From Healing to Dreamweaving
My work has always been an exciting, adventurous journey – dynamic, spiritual, and full of discovery. I began as an acupuncturist, moved into psychotherapy, and now I focus on dream interpretation and shamanic and spiritual healing.
One of my passions and specialties is called Dreamweaving. That is, I work with dreams – both my own and my clients’. Dream interpretation is a profound and powerful tool for raising one’s consciousness and identifying areas that need healing.

The Shaman’s Dream Stone has come to play a very interesting role in my Dreamweaving practice. I will share with you an amazing experience I had with this mystical stone being.
But first, since this is not a crystal one hears about often, let me briefly tell you what Shaman’s Dream Stone is (no chemistry here, I promise!).
What Is the Shaman’s Dream Stone?
The Shaman’s Dream Stone is a special type of quartz. These stones are often tumbled smooth so that they look like a huge, solid droplet of water with something shimmering on the inside. They often resemble an irregularly shaped “crystal ball” (though some might look more like oval cabochons).
The magic of this stone comes from its striking internal inclusions and glimmering inner landscapes. These can include hematite, rutile, and other mineral formations. These internal formations give the stone amazing depth and complexity, making it both a visual tool and an energetic ally.

Both the inclusions and their presence within the quartz contribute to the rare and powerful qualities of the Shaman’s Dream Stone, making it perfect for enhancing dreams, spiritual journeys, and intuitive connections.
How I Use the Shaman’s Dream Stone
As its name suggests, the Shaman’s Dream Stone is used to enhance dreaming and journeying, as well as to help heighten one’s intuitive abilities. I feel it to be an ever-present ally, a tool with its own kind of consciousness, which has become one of the most powerful companions for my practice.
Here’s my simple but powerful process:
1. Set the intention
Prior to connecting with this crystal (usually before I go to sleep), I think of a clear intention:
- What am I hoping to learn about in my dreams that night?
- What question do I have that I want to receive answers for from my Higher Self, my guides, my power animals, angels, and other beings of light?
I focus on this question first while holding the crystal in my hand.
2. Gaze into the stone
There is a different approach to using the Shaman’s Dream Stone compared to most other crystals. While other crystals are most often used by placing them on the body, in jewelry, on an altar, or in ceremonial objects, this stone is used by gazing into it.
When my intention is clear, and I feel calm, I connect deeply with this magnificent stone. I bring it close to one eye, less than an inch away. Then my gaze naturally softens, and I try to look inside the stone at the inclusions within. When I can focus on them, it is as if I am looking at an enchanted, mystical place.
3. Focus on the stone and enjoy its magic
The effect is that this process puts me into an altered state of mind almost immediately. There is a singular focus (to try to discover the inclusions with my eye), and somehow, having a “task” frees up my mind from its usual state of jumbled chatter.
The amazing part is that, instead of taking a while to calm down, as during meditation, quieting my mind only takes seconds when I connect with my Shaman’s Dream Stone.

After a couple of minutes of going through this process, sometimes alternating between the eyes and sometimes not, it feels complete, and I set it down next to my bed.
4. Be grateful and enjoy the dream
I always offer thanks to the beings I work with, whether they are crystals or any other materials I’ve used as tools for growth and healing. And then I watch for the magic that unfolds in my dream life.
Dreaming Beyond Dimensions
So let me now share with you a dream experience I had on a night when I deeply connected with my Shaman’s Dream Stone.
For some context, I was not someone who typically had fantastical dreams involving angels, other dimensions, extraterrestrials, and similar experiences. I have had some truly mind-blowing dreams, but those were few and far between. I share this preface because, once I began using this crystal mindfully, I started having dreams like the ones I am about to describe.
In this dream, I am looking through a cabinet and discover several dozen eggs, forgotten there and probably spoiled. Then someone tells me to pick up a box of cookies from the cabinet and follow them. I do so, and then we step through the cabinet into an alternate dimension.
Now I am in a grassy field with a beautiful, sweet family I’d never seen before. Then I realize that one of the men in the family is planning to take me on a date. I’m confused because I am happily married, but I do try to imagine being close to someone else again. Then I suddenly realize that we are 10 years in the future and my husband has passed away...
I won’t go into the interpretations here, though they are quite intriguing! I just shared the dream in the hope that you can appreciate how using the Shaman’s Dream Stone before bed helped me be open to shifting timelines or even exploring alternate dimensions.
There’s a reason Shaman’s Dream stone reminds me of a crystal ball – it feels like a tool that helps one to “see” other realities and points in time.

A Tool for All Dreamers
I often encourage people to buy one of these Shaman’s Dream stones when they wish to deepen their dream life (and you need not be a shaman!).
